about

A UR Records special project in an unprecedented situation. The difficult conditions originated by the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic have forced home all musicians and entertainment workers. In these dramatic times, the artists of UR Records collective have decided to unite forces and react while simultaneously reaching out to help during the emergency.

We’ve created our very own home-made album. The entire work was born from the encounters made at ‘Jazz in Quota’, an artistic residence in the pre-alps near Bergamo, inside the forest of Valcanale. UR re-united all the musicians that have taken part in the event during the past three years to create a small collection of music born during the festival.

We’ve selected seven tracks that have been recorded at home, in solitude, with our own instruments and various equipment. Each phase of production, from recording to fine-tuning, was realized in complete isolation.
We’re talking about a tough job, undertaken at distance, with as much new technology as possible.
The record also features two special guests that have already worked with our ensemble, UR-Kestra: Dave Douglas and Steven Bernstein.

This work represents our personal contribution towards those who more than anyone are fighting this international tragedy. The album will be sold online through Bandcamp and the earnings will be entirely donated to the Papa Giovanni XXIII hospital of Bergamo, one of the facilities that has been majorly affected by the epidemic.
